that's not really impact. Lady Gaga's Bad Romance broke streaming, sales and award records at the time. Wrecking Ball only broke streaming records.
Obviously a lot of people will say wrecking ball because it's newer and fresher in their memories but how would u explain VMAs opening with Bad Romance as a soundtrack (when they have never ever done that before because it's not fair to other nominated songs) if that's not impact then what it is ? If Breaking records for the most VMAs in one night is not impact then what it is ? Being the most watched video on Youtube at the time (while Wrecking Ball is not even second right now) ? Selling nearly 10M WW in 2010 even tho it was released in 2009 ? If that's not impact then what it is ?
Edit: And let me add Bad Romance recently became the first song to receive a digital DIAMOND certification by RIA. If that's not impact then what is ?
