You know, the whole past six years - regardless of whether I get this guy or not - has really taught me a lot about who I am in regards to relationships. Even though it's the total opposite of how I usually act, I'd rather be the supporting character in the story that's always there for the other person than be the main character myself.

I fall fast and hard, and I don't really tend to change much as a person. My personality has been the same since I was like 8. I'll grow, sure, but I don't think I'll change too much.

I don't like change, really. I could get past this a little easier, assuming nothing happens, if it also weren't HS graduation. I've based my life around school, the people there, and all of that which follows for as long as I can remember, but when I move in three months I literally won't know one person at my school. It's just such a huge change and that's big for someone who can't deal with change.

College is great though! Im the same way, awkward, hates change etc. But I think I blossomed since HS I was so different in HS then I am now. Im more talkative, and ive made plenty of new friends, shockingly. Ive been through so much in the past year, lord I could write a novel ()

What was it like for y'all as far as the actual no-longer-in-kiddy-school life experience the first few weeks/months? Was it easy to find friends and transition into a new stage of life, or did it take more time or were there difficulties etc?

@Cupid I'm moving 4 hours away with no vehicle or transportation home except seasonal breaks.

For the first couple years after I graduated high school I was basically in a transition phase and I just kind of wandered around trying to find myself (that sounds really cliche ) and I was really lost. Only within the last year have I gotten more comfortable with who I am and where I'm at in life currently. I don't think anybody goes from high school to life after high school completely smoothly right away but that's normal. If you feel a bit lost don't fret about it, it'll work itself out eventually.

When you're there, you get to know a lot of freshmen, a lot of them are in the same boat as you are. You don't know anyone, and you're confused as hell. Honestly, get to know your roommate, they'll be the first person you're likely to become friends with. It kinda just folds onto its own. Its hard to adjust to a new life style, everyone's lazy in college, and you have to try and get used to that if you're not already. I mean, it also depends where you're planning on going.

Yes, I joined this club idek what it was about but all we did was fun activities in my area. Like it was a mix of volunteering and fun casual activities. I met soo many people through that club, and made a few friends.

First weeks of college, you literally just latch on to the first group of people you can find. One minute you're shyly asking a group of people on your hall to go to dinner because you don't want to be alone; next thing you know, you're playing drunken Would You Rather. It's a process, but it all works out.

Don't expect to stay great friends with the people you initially latch on too though. I didn't. Although I still hang out with the people I met in the beginning, I didn't meet my best friend until the following semester, and now they're one of if not the best friend I've ever had. Those initial friendships are so unstable to begin with. Plus it doesn't help that I'm an insecure type, so I question my relationships with everyone. That's why I don't think I'll ever have a successful long romantic relationship. I'd mess it up with my insecurity.

Ive only been in college for two semesters, so hopefully I stay friends with most of the people that I have met
