Can her album and single selling power help the music biz if she releases in 2014? I think she will help albums sales since she is estimated to sell 10-12 million albums world wide and sell about 4 million US albums. Im not sure if she can have another Rolling In The Deep/Set Fire to the Rain/Someone Like you but in terms of albums she can help.

She can't "save" it. She can make it's stats look better though but that's not equal to saving it.

Was the sales climate not already awful when she released 21 ?

It has gotten a lot worse (believe it or not) but I don't think it'll affect her that much.

edit: But yes, the sales climate was terrible, which is why everyone was so surprised by it's sales.

I think the state of the music industry is a bit exaggerated right now since we hit that time where not much big releases are out. I mean pretty much after the new year is when 21 picked up a lot of its #1 at top because competition is so light haha. Of course its worse though

Yeah she can't save it when sales are down double digit %. No one can reverse the trends w/one release.
