i was just watching modern family (the finale) and seeing Mitch and Cam getting married had me ballin' (more then titanic) esp how it was a light joke that they couldnt get married - i was thinking millions watch this show every week and the impact it might have on the next (younger) generation, especially at a time where the opening of the flood gates to gay 'acceptance' are the most likely it has been in years()

I believe Mickey and Ian from Shameless had a bit of influence on the younger generation with Mickey's recent coming out and going against his homophobic dad.
How was Brokeback Mountain not the first thing mentioned?
Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger were such beautiful gay men. But a shame half their accolades were for them bravely "portraying gay men". High time gay men starred in gay movies, and got praised for their portrayal equally.

Luke and Noah being the first gay super couple to have graphic sex on a soap opera was pretty huge in America.
Brokeback, of course, being snubbed at the Academy Awards actually made the gays look even more sympathetic since it basically confirmed that homophobia was real and many people are still up in arms about it.
