I remember there was a pic of this ripped torso and everyone was like "Omg hot, yas pls" but when someone posted the full pic and everyone noticed the guy was asian, the reactions were different.

Well obviously. I was talking about meaningful representation. It's sad that for all the progress other minority groups (blacks, latinos, gays, etc.) have made in TV and film Asians are still basically absent. I mean the last time an Asian woman was even nominated for an Academy Award was like in 1937 or some mess

And don't even get me started with the fact that there's still basically 0 Asian representation in popular music in the west. Even just talking about Asian-Americans in pop music there's almost none of note. It's really messed up.

I was referring to what we can do on this forum in that sentence, I can't force members to stop being stereotypical or expect everyone to be considerate and stop it's just not the way it works. It takes time/years for negative ideals like that to be pushed away, it doesn't happen overnight. Raising up my voice towards generalizations like that in real seems most beneficial than going back and forth with someone on the internet.
