According to reports,20 year old Canadian R&B Singer,Keisha Chante has been cast to play Aaliyah in her biopic.The movie will begin production in August 2008 and should hit theaters sometime in 2009.Below are few promotional pictures of Keishia Chante.
She does look like her! even when she's being interviewed, she kinds speaks like her in some way, same tiny body as well. The only difference is she's NOT American, she's Canadian, & she doesn't sing like Aaliyah either, Aaliyah has an distictive singing voice. But she definetly has her looks.
P.S I like her music! Shs is currently working on 3rd solo album. She is not signed in an U.S label yet
I love Keshia, I think she'll do the role justice.
This does remind me a lot of Selena. but at least they took their time in coming out with this. Selena was seriously like in production less than a year after it happened.
This is one movie I won't miss. Aaliyah was the HEAT!!!!! She always bought a different vibe and swag to the industry.( Something that is needed now) Hope she looks as mysterious as Aaliyah did in this movie.
