What makes Britney the Princess of Pop and not other established icons like Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, or Rihanna?

This isn't about sales because she is not the only person to have a diamond album.

What does Britney have that makes her a princess to the throne of the 40 years of pop music?

Her legacy and the fact she's released a lot of Iconic hits in her prime

Because of her undeniable impact on pop music. Not just pop music either the whole industry was hit by her.

Because both MJ and Madonna called her it.

Mariah can't be the Princess of Pop as she is already the Elusive Chanteuse, smh.

Cause black artists will be called R&B artists no mather what genre of music they make,

It is because of the impact she had on the industry. No other female bar Madonna comes close to her impact. Now before someone starts stating names, people like Janet, Whitney, etc. were impactful in their own right, but the level of star power, presence, public interest in personal life, etc.. has only been matched by Madonna, Michael and Prince to an extent. That is why:

King of Pop: MJ
Prince of Pop: Prince
Queen of Pop: Madonna
Princess of Pop: Britney

I actually think it's because of her being compared to Madonna when she was breaking out.

1. Her earlier albums literally changed the face of pop music.
2. everyone was singing Oops/Toxic back in the day.
3. she had an impact on younger girls who wanted to be just like Britney, who are now full grown women & still love her.

Every Stan base likes to think their fav is the new princess but either weren't born when Britney ruled the world or their tint on the rose coloured stan glasses is highly high.
