Love Story, You Belong With Me and Our Song were her biggest hits before the Red era and literally none of them are break up songs, but ok!

Katy, on the other hand, is blissfully unaware of how mediocre or childish her lyrics are even when she intends to create a serious song. And that's just the lyrics. Melodically, her songs are simple and boring (not surprising since that's a Dr. Luke hallmark at this point).

Of course when Gaga does, it's intentional and on purpose, thus genuine. When someone else does it, then it's fake and generic.
How typical.
I half expect to see monsters say Gaga did cheap generic lyrics first, thus being able to accuse Katy of copying her, since that's what they like to do.

Well, the same goes to Katy. Isn't she known for being tacky and childish, yet the Kats try to prove otherwise? I guess the public's perception isn't always fair.

Yeah and if you did the same for Katy you could talk about relationships, sex, partying, self-empowerment, drug abuse, religion, domestic abuse, friendship, hopelessness, etc. More than just the "relationships, sex and partying" themes you mentioned earlier.
|
True, she writes about a lot of themes. But does that mean she is versatile, when she lacks dimensionality?

In that case, I can also just say all of Katy's "bad" lyrics were supposed to be bad "because she meant them to be!"

Cheap shot. I don't know why ATRL hates that line.
Plus, it's better than most of Taylor Swifts songs.
"We are never ever getting back together"
I can't tell how many Facebook statuses I saw saying 'Taylor Swift should never ever write again...", yet I saw literally zero insulting Firework.

The sad thing is... Taylor's worst lyrics sound more genuine than Katy's best attempts.

Mess, maybe YOU should listen to more artists then, because. Can say that almost all the artists in my sig wouldn't release a song with bad lyrics--especially intentional bad lyrics
So messy, I can't even lmfao

Just sit down. Here's how that just went:
Us: We don't know if Katy wrote all her songs.
You: SHE WRITES ALL HER MUSIC.
Us: But how do you know?
You: WHAT MAKES YOU THINK SHE DOESN'T? I CAN SAY THAT SAME ABOUT GAGA. COME BACK WITH PROOF.
Rank yourself on the delusional stan scale from one to ten. Go.

Love songs =/= break-up songs, something you and the GP can't seem to grasp.

Well, I don't think she meant Roar lyrics to be so clichéd. And Unconditionally, such an important song to her, to sound so trivial and uninspired. So I truly don't believe she meant them to be silly. It was just her lack of skills at songwriting...

E.T., Dark Horse, Firework, California Gurls, Thinking of You, Unconditionally, Teenage Dream, The One That Got Away, etc are all very lyrically different and they're all majors hits (sans Uncle).
