The subject matter here at ATRL is quite different since 2000, that's for sure. A lot of the girls on TRL by Sarah were huge fans of Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC (and even some huge fans of Carson Daly, for that matter).
Since then, boybands have faded away, TRL has faded away, and solo female performers have dominated the pop scene--their fans are different. That undoubtedly has something to do with the lack of girls these days. I think this site has always attracted pretty many gay guys, though; that never changed much.
Other thoughts:

- Bart and Randy, we all know you despise each other, don't pollute this thread with it
- Saba, you seem more brave, blunt, and open-minded than the average girl
