I just watched the premiere episode of Penny Dreadful and I can safely say that this is one of the best pilots I've seen in recent years. It has talented cast, great story and the mystery is intriguing.
I'd definitely recommend the show to everyone of you, especially of you're a fan of horror/mystery shows/movies.
The premiere was a bit rushed, chaotic and all over the place. Sometimes a bit too clichéd, as well.
However, I really liked the production value that captivated me and made me hooked for another episode.
I wouldn't say chaotic. I could follow everything that was happening without any effort but I have to agree about it being cliched from time to time. It's horror after all. Can't wait till 18th May for the second episode.
I saw the pilot a couple weeks ago.. So ****ing Classy! i love the charachters, loved the setting.. production value was obviously very fine. the best thing about it was .. that it was not cluttered with unnecessary horror gimmicks.. it had the right amount of intrigue, right amount of gore, right amount of plot development.
It clearly was a very intricately and well directed episode.
gee.. i should really watch the second episode before reading the posts in this thread.. seems like a lot happened.. glad i stopped before reading anything major!
love it!in episode 2 the possession scene was AMAZING! i was literally in trance watching that scene.. so bad the first season will have just 8 episodes....
Dorian Gray though
And apparantly they are going to show him with men and everything, i saw a teaser with him a woman in one arm and a man licking his nipple in another
