I want a high quality, the best, camera phone there is out there. What do you suggest? Lumia 1020? Samsung galaxy S5? I love to take pictures.

S5 came on top on blind tests by phonearena.com and engadget.
They showed pics taken by latest phones without naming which and thousand voted the best pics.

Lumia 1020 is in a different league to any other camera phone.

The S5 is worse than the 5S.

The Lumia 1020 is your best bet. The S5 & 5S are weak in comparison.

That's because Samsung's camera increases the Saturation which makes any photo look better, but doesn't actually mean it takes the best photo.

In the filter orientated universe, the S5 will seem to take a better photo. But from a photographers prospective it doesn't take as good as a photo as you'd think.



For example the 5S captures a larger and clearer photo (far left) but the Galaxy S5 (middle) ups the saturation to provide a better looking photo but the mountains and detail are lost (look at the bush for example).

A photographer will edit the photo later. What they want to shoot is detail and clarity.

Which is why the Lumia 1020 wins.



But out of S5 vs 5S, clarity + detail + image size win. Having richer colour doesn't mean much when a photographer will edit things later

A photographer will use a professional camera. But for the average user, the S5 wins. The blind tests showed it.

You can't go wrong with 41 Megapixels and lossless zoom.
S5 is nothing in comparison to the upper end Lumias.

The blind tests are pointless because everyone is going to choose a filtered photo over a non-filtered photo. We live in a Instagram society.

Why would someone honestly want a pre-filtered camera with less detail and smaller aperture over a camera with more detail, larger aperture and the ability to add a filter later as desired.

You can see the buildings on the mountains on the 5S. On the S5 it looks like white specs.

You should check the new XPERIA by the way. Sony ALWAYS includes the best cameras in their high end phones.

The 1020s camera literally slays me but I hate windows phones so I say galaxy S5. It definitely doesn't disappoint.
