And Star Trek has no legend, which is why you can just start over and do whatever you want... but that just makes it less interesting to me. I guess that's why JJ Abrams was done with it. It's going to get repetitive because there's nothing tying it all together, just the relationships between the characters. Reminds me of those criminal tv shows, there's always a different case. No evolution, no development, just a new threat they have to deal with. Where can they take Kirk and whatshisname now? Are they going to become lovers? That's interesting. Could they become enemies? Well that destroys the whole concept ST is based on. I just don't see the end game... There's no point in staying on board once you've already done 2 movies.

WTF?
Maybe you are just biased and purposely refuse to acknowledge how legendary ST is, especially TOS and its characters. You complain that it doesnt have one main legend, but it actually does when it comes to various races and cultures. Its just different concept, but not less interesting, it makes it exciting in its unique way.
Both SW and ST, just like almost every story, no matter if fictional or not, is based on relationships between the characters. The same what you have told about characters relationships in ST can be applied to SW too. Not to mention that SW and ST have a huge universe built around the characters, so much to tying it all together.
