it's not weak, it's understanding that you can fight the fight all you want but it's not going to mean anything unless a collective agree that a certain behavior is bad. you don't have to rely on the straights but you shouldn't just assume that because YOU think something is right that automatically means things will turn into a pretty ****ing rainbow and things will change. it doesn't work like that, there comes a point when you need the support of someone who can reach other people better than you.
