But the fact that they PULLED Marry The Night from radio because it was stalling at 30M AI We were so scared they would do the same thing when Applause was stalling at 40M lol. The fact that G.U.Y. couldn't even reach 10 is tragic.

Yeah, I think they went into Marry The Night knowing it wasn't going to do too well since the album had been out for awhile and You and I kind of ruined any trajectory momentum worldwide. They probably didn't anticipate it not going top 20 but it could have been WAY worse.

G.U.Y. was just handled kind of awkwardly with strange promotional attempts. Like, they clearly did put a good amount of effort into it but it was just all the wrong places and the wrong televised spots. Should have done a Billboard performance but I'm kind of glad it is over now.

The problem with her and interscope is that they only intervene when they feel that the issue is apparent and avoidable. Which to some extent I can understand. Like Judas for example. Instead of testing out Venus, they rushed to DWUW from an "overwhelming response" which was really just the hype effect. But when they feel like there's nothing else they can do, they give up flat out. I kind of hope they stop doing that, but I understand too that they want to make sure they're not just putting out singles for the hell of it.

I'm going to be like the Gaga historian in 20 years and have to explain to all the young fans what the hell "burnt with scoops of bacon" really is.

If they wanted Gypsy from the getgo, and even tried to promote it as the third single themselves lol, then why don't they just go ahead and release it? Why give up if they've seen this as an obvious single choice from the beginning, I don't get it. So many artists can manage to have a hit single right after a flop single, so why can't Gaga?

If the thing actually does unlock on June 30th, just stems and instrumentals that we already have most likely.

Also, I'm glad that at least we have NO(BTR) in full. It kind of sucks that we only have half of Out of Control. Reloaded is also really good and another we have in full. I wouldn't be mad if she went with that direction in her music. A slight urban edge but with very poppy choruses. Not Partynauseous, JND, or ratchet urban though.

I mean, I don't really see the loss, some of the artists I stan for like Gwen Stefani and No Doubt had some terrible luck with singles and just churned out one after the other and never criticized. I don't see the issue with trying another song.
