Also, if anyone can find a YT video or Soundcloud stream without downloading of the final version of Brooklyn Nights that would be nice, I've only ever heard the original leak which was apparently a demo but still flawless.
It peaked at number 8 on the pop charts and actually held its own. (it also climbed there on its own without a radio deal) If that's not a radio hit then I don't know what is. Not everything is gonna smash like Roar or Talk Dirty. Her issue this era wasn't radio until they just dropped everything and ignored DWUW's video and promotional plans. Applause was one of her better radio chart runs since TEOG.
The #8 peak was a fluke really, because it was "holding its own" around #10-15 at its peak. And the big stations weren't here for it. The small and mid-size stations stanned hard, but not a single big station put it on PR. It was only a moderate radio hit.
And come on, they completely ignored G.U.Y. Poor song didn't have a chance. But it follows the trajectory of the era - good start, fizzle, done.

She's definitely still recording it. I think that she's going to release it at the end of the year and HONESTLY I don't want her too. She's got Taylor, Adele, and Rihanna releasing all around the same time and quite frankly she doesn't need that again. Every interview has suggested that she's still on track to release it though.

They ignored G.U.Y for a reason. It wasn't what they wanted from her DWUW did well, now you're talking about "flukes" and all that but really it was considered a moderate radio hit. I never said it was HUGE, I'm just saying it's not like radio wasn't here at all for her. That was our biggest concern coming into the ARTPOP era and it turns out that's not exactly the issue here.

I've also thought that Fashion! could be a cool single....its got that Get Lucky vibe that could do so well, and it stands out.

I've been the same actually. I wanted guy as a single over gypsy and I'm glad it was although it didn't do anything. The video was great, etc.
I think they should just try gypsy and see what happens. She never really had a song like it as a single yet. Nothing to lose really
