And excuse my ignorance, but does BET usually nominate so many white artists? Aside from Iggy, Rita and Ariana, there's also Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, JT, Robin Thicke, Blake Griffin, Daft Punk...

No. This is the most diverse BET Awards yet, which isn't a bad thing. Its good that other races get to experience this awards show
