Missing cat from Japan Tsunami FOUND ALIVE 3 years later

For the Yamagishi family, it was horrible to lose their cat, Suika, during the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan on March 11, 2011.
Even though the family’s home in Ofunato escaped major damage, Suika still went missing amidst the chaos.
But on April 10 of this year, a couple walking through the nearby town of Rikuzentakata, found Suika curled up under a tree. With no idea who the cat belonged to, the couple brought Suika to the Ofunato Health Center where officials tried to locate the owners with the information provided on the collar around Suika’s neck.
According to Asahi Shimbun, days went by and no one had claimed Suika. So they decided to display a photo of Suika in the newspaper. The employee taking the photo noticed faded letters on the collar, which led to his discovery of the name “Yamagishi” next to a phone number.
