6 years have passed since legendary pop starlet Janet Jackson released her most recent studio album "Discipline". 5 years have gone by since her revered brother, the King of Pop Michael Jackson, suddenly passed away. Within this time frame, Michael has released, not one, but TWO posthumous albums. Meanwhile, Janet released her "Number Ones" greatest hits album & went on a supporting world tour in 2011 (a year after release).

Earlier today it was rumored that Janet would be attending the Billboard Music Awards this sunday, where a tribute to MJ will take place. All of this drama makes me wonder: why TF is Janet being such a procrastinator lately? What could she be doing, other than being an Arab billionaire's trophy wife, to prevent her from getting back in the game or even pay homage to her own brother (who is more active as a rotting corpse than she is alive)?

Michaels dead but his career lives on. Janet is alive but her career is dead dead dead.

She's probably bored or has nothing to write about musically. She's been in show business since age 7.

Her last 2 albums were missing her usual magic touch...I think it's great she is taking a break. I think it's better to take long breaks rather than tarnish your image with subpar music.

She had 4 flopping albums since the incident, she knows the odds of being successful again are close to 0... Better this way than doing reality TV trying to stay relevant, her legacy has actually been restored now

Damita Jo didn't really flop tho. By her standards yes, but it still did decent, went Platinum, & sold 4M WW. And Number Ones is a GH.
