What I don't understand is why some people use different symbols for different things in numbers.
For example, I use "." for decimal point (9.099 - nine point zero nine nine) and "," for separating thousands (9,099 - nine thousand ninety nine). That's the way I've always been taught and that's the way that makes the most sense to me. Using a comma for a decimal point has always been so foreign to me because, well, it's not a point!
