Well the reason is, the only two songs she's released with #1 potential (you mentioned both) were unlucky. They were both slow burners. They peaked well inside the Top 10, and sold huge amounts in the long run, but never dominated enough to get to the top.

Nicki singles were released when she had HEAVY competition... if she released super bass in 2014 with streaming (SB has 400m views) she would have a definite number one by now.

Super bass was kinda unlucky...PRA was everywhere and LFN had like a series of massive discounts and katy had been a radio queen at that point (not that she no longer is)
