Actually their updated 2012 report says 5.9M in 2011. So probably 900k overshipped copies were returned to label

6 million copies worldwide.
We had a confirmed 5.4m figure at the end of 2011, 600k since then is a bit of a stretch but it's feasible.

Considering it's at 2.3 or so million in the US, it is never going to get certified as diamond. (There are no certifications for worldwide sales)
