When I first listened to BTD I thought it was too much for me to take at one time. It took me about a month to fully appreciate it.

I can see that; I agree actually.
Time to come clean: I discovered lana when I downloaded a fake "leak" of Born tThis Way and it was like a bunch of copies of BTD (song) and I was like wtf?
At first I really was bored, but I quickly fell in love with the song and then eagerly awaited the album.

Your interpretation needs some improvement. I didn't hear it, it's a fact, but I can guess using the leaked songs + West Coast vibe + her interviews about finished the album and than re-produce 9 of 11 tracks with Dan in Nashville + a lot of people comparing TBK new album with WC.
Really hope she proves otherwise and the album is not the LDR + TBK i think it's gonna be.

it'd be the perfect way to release it, sorta like how Sky Ferreira released the ghost EP with ntmt. You don't have to spend a lot of money on all the artwork and booklet and things. I've been thinking the iTunes secret release was going to be a.k.a. with the videos from that era. You never know!

But the most perfect would be if there was super-deluxe box-set (in limited amounts; like Paradise) and UV and a.k.a. would be separated — like, in two jewel cases. IDK if the cover would be re-shot or something, but make it more like fitting with other her covers.
I think, that a.k.a. the album has some of her best work, and so much potential overall, but something with production doesn't let me to enjoy this one, I don't know. If she remastered the songs, I wonder if it would be one of the best contemporary albums. It could be.

I thought the box sets for paradise weren't that limited? I have one and it wasn't that much. But yeah, two seperate CD cases would be cool. Or digipaks, like the paradise box set had for BTD and Paradise, as well as remixes and videos.

Born This Way
BTD was indeed kinda repetitive at first. But I blame the order of the songs. It should've been:
1. Blue Jeans
2. Video Games
3. Dark Paradise
4. National Anthem
5. This Is What Makes Us Girls
6. Diet Mountain Dew
7. Radio
8. Million Dollar Man
9. Summertime Sadness
10. Carmen
11. Off to the Races
12. Born to Die

I like the track list actually! Lana's music is much more upbeat than people give it credit for! Imo. I've recently fallen hard for OTTR and DMD--love those two more than usual

I wanna Lana stuff, not Dan stuff. I've seen his other works with artists and it's quite obvious his fingerprints allover the place. Like I said, the vibe the record was going into (BB, AFFA) would be enough/perfect for me and a lot of her fans.
I don't care about the any style she's going to follow (she can go wherever/sing whatever and literally slays), but it really bother me the obvious fact that her work with Dan didn't improve or whatever UV sound, but changed the entire stuff and put HIS personality into HER music work.
But I can't blame Dan, she give him green card. I think we all know WC is not lana-personal as she thinks it is. But I promised I wouldn't be cryin' about it anymore, just expect the record and see how it goes. Hope I like it, otherwise I'll have to wait til the next record.

I honestly don't know what you are talking about. More than anything Emile Haynie put HIS stamp all over on BTD with his "loon" sound. He has completly taken the album in his direction.
And Lana is a rock girl at heart and everybody knows that. If you dislike WC and the musical direction, it's fine, everybody is free to like and dislike whatever they want.
She was clearly not satisfyed with the sound of Ultraviolence before she met Dan. If she didn't like the material with Auerbach, she wouldn't have extended the sessions from 2 days to 2 weeks.
And just for the record: the production style of Dan Auerbach is pretty diverse.

It looks like you dislike a bit Born to Die/Paradise by your early coments... and I can see why you like WC. But unfortunately the oposite happens to me. I din't know dat about Haynie, i thought she really was guided by Dan Heath that she likes a lot.
I know she's a rock girl, but not a Black Keys rock girl. But i desagree with you about the sound of UV before him... she really wanted the slow vibe and she only talked about in interviews. She was tired(?) of dat orchestra stuff and wanted something more simple. She even changed her cliche lyrics(sometimes really pissed me off). But change a slow vibe to a alternative/old rock vibe was really surprising. Look, she made the songs to fit on a single vibe("I focus the entire record in one song" in this case was BB), than she gets "crazy" and let Dan do his job to transform the entire record.
I truly hope he didn't mess it up as he said early on a interview "the demos were too good to change much".
I cant believe shes going to make the same mistakes twice, let producers change all her "view of work of art" and lead into their styles.

No offense to you, but your posts show ignorance. She specifically said in numerous interviews that his sound/style/idea was exactly was she wanted and was looking for. She didn't let him create the sound of UV; he helped her being to life the sound she wanted--specifically, as she put it, the "fuzzy guitar sound."

I prefer a new producer to hearing another album of Emile and Jeff Bhasker's sound...

Like why would she work with Dan Auerbach if she didn't want a Dam Auerbach sound.

Right? She would extend 2 days to 2 weeks if she didn't like how the album was sounding. Interview said the album was almost done before dan even came in, so to the people who think he steered the direction of the album, step down.
