Can you premiere at #1 in the Hot 100 anymore?
I remember some songs back in 07/08/09 premiering at #1

If it cant anymore can you post the link to where it says it.
Also when did this happen, and why?

Ps. Don't mind my signature haven't changed it since 09.

Of course it's possible. It's just a lot harder, since the formula for the Hot 100 has changed in recent years, so now streaming plays a part in determining a song's chart position, and first week sales aren't quite as influential as they used to be (see Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend" being blocked from debuting and even reaching #1).

None of those debuted at #1, they all jumped there from the lower regions of the chart due to being held back from digital.

Didn't Part of Me debut at #1 like a month later?
I think the most recent song to do it was Harlem Shake because of the added streaming points. It's also difficult because radio, streaming, and sales all run on different tracking weeks (see WANGBT and Roar)

Yes. Big artists need to release their singles when there aren't juggernauts like Happy and All Of Me on top of the charts. They also need big numbers, at least 400K

Debuting at #1 was never a trend. It was happening very occasionally.

There like what? 20 songs or so that debuted at #1 in Billboard's history.

It's still very possible.

If an artist were to release their music video during their opening sales week (and released it so it could experience the full tracking week), it could still happen.
