You rehearse statements that reflect what you know to be objectively true (at least on a theoretical level, if not yet reflected in practice) as encouragement and a positive defense against the Synarc story.
Statements like these are meant to be a starting point in the development of positive thought patterns conducive to sobriety to see implemented in place of the self-destructive train of deceptive thought that most often serves as the catalyst for relapse or the continuation of substance abuse.

"X-Men: Days of Future Past" will be one of the biggest blockbusters of the summer, and one of the biggest blockbusters of the year. Of course, the only reason it will be huge is because it's piggybacking off the critical acclaim and commercial success of "X-Men: First Class" with Michael Fassbender. If "Days of Future Past" was released after "X-Men: The Last Stand," it wouldn't have been nearly as anticipated as it is now or as successful as it will be on May 24th, 2014.
Conversely, "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" will underperform.

A big blockbuster superhero film like "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" being number one for only one week and taken down by a comedy, not to mention reports say that "Spider-Man" is going to suffer a STEEP drop based off the numbers.
Meanwhile, "X-Men: Days of Future Past" is receiving fantastic reviews and word of mouth.
