The problem is that's not how it's going to be taken. Whatever news or media and social sites pick this up, it will be spun and applauded as "legend Bette Midler calls out Selena and Taylor Swift. And I doubt she will correct that impression. It will be used as just another endorsement to bully and mock Taylor, for something she never did but for a malicious lie perpetrated on her by a tabloid site.
Bette has been in ths game a long time and has had fake gossip about her too. She shouldn't have worded this tweet this way. If she was going to use Taylor and Selena's names and media power she shouldve made it clear that it wasn't malicious.
