TFM was lucky to be an EP. Had she made it an album it could have easily turned into a 15 track filler-ridden slog and it wouldn't be half as good as it is now.

As perfect as
Born This Way is, I do agree. If "Americano", "Bad Kids", and maybe "Highway Unicorn" weren't on the album, I'm sure the album's Metascore would be in the 77-83 range, instead of 71.
ARTPOP has a bunch of great songs, but there's no cohesion. There's no hinting at what the direction of the album was supposed to be. With
Born This Way, you could tell it was supposed to be an overall campy mix of serious and lighthearted self empowerment anthems. But musically, what is
ARTPOP supposed to be? Is it supposed to be full of huge electronic pop revolts like "Aura" and "G.U.Y."? Is it supposed to be simple catchy dance-pop like "Applause" and "Sexxx Dreams"? Is it supposed to be honest R&B/rock like "Do What U Want" and "Gypsy"? Is it supposed to be smug diva-pop like "Donatella"? The album (and really the entire album campaign thus far) is a mess with no direction.
