Is it okay for a couple to sleep around whilst they're out, then come home to eachother and claim they "love eachother" ? Should this be socially acceptable or remain an underground thing?

Personally I find open relationships are a huge no and I couldn't ever in my life be with someone else rather than my current boyfriend. I also find it hypocritical if a gay couple want to fight for equal rights and gay marriage when they also believe in open relationships.

Absolutely not ! If you claim to love and care for somebody, why would you actively go out your way to do something behind their back?

I have friends who are in a "benefits" situation, and they claim it's like an "open relationship" and it really works for them, as they can sleep with who they want, but when they need a friend and support they go back to each other. I don't believe them, I mean, at some point feelings are going to get involved.

Sure it's OK.... for some people...but I don't like to share...like that. So it wouldn't be OK for me.

If you want to fall for someone and wind up with a broken heart, sure. Personally I don't see why you'd bother having a relationship if it was going to be open, but I suppose some are capable of loving one person while requiring numerous sexual partners. I'm sure those sorts exist, but I'm willing to bet most just crave the attention of numerous sex partners and are afraid of "missing out" and therefore find themselves unable to commit.

It's whatever works I guess. But I don't see how it could though. There's bound to be curiosity with what the other person is doing, and that may lead into jealousy and that may lead into not trusting one another. It'd just be a long road of hurt in my opinion.

If both parties consent to it, I don't see the big deal. You can love someone and still want a "fling" now and then..

And I don't see why it would be worse for gays to have open relationships.

I was having this debate with someone else earlier who believed in open relationships.. They claimed it was people like me who are "holding back humanity" ah no bae! It's people like you who make humanity worse off.

I've never seen one end well so I'm going to say no.
