Basically yes. And Kelly had to work hard 2004+. Breakaway would've done worse than Thankful if she hadn't worked hard. Idol gave a push for just one album (I would say for one single - AMLT) and everything she's done later - she did it like a real artist would.

I find it really annoying when anybody bashes any of these shows and says things like "It's an insult to real musicians" and "those are just karaoke singers, not real artists". It's incredibly ignorant. They're acting like it's super easy to get on one of these shows, and once you're on, you're given a successful career on a silver platter....that's not how it works at all. 90% of the people on these shows had been working extremely hard before the show. Like Kelly has said, it's literally just a door into the industry, no different that someone being discovered by a talent scout or auditioning in front of a record label.

I had a dream about Kelly last night, I met her at a party, she was wearing a red dress and was heavily pregnant just like she is and - don't think that I'm a pervert please - she let me touch her belly and the vocalist of the new generation just kicked. It was amazing.

When I was younger, I watched TV and there was a program where top journalists were talking about politics and stuff. At some point they talked about shows like Idol and had the same thought: shows like Idol can't produce a long distance star. "with an exception of Kelly Clarkson". I felt so proud

Amelia Lily didn't win the X-Factor but she managed to have a huge smash hit You Bring Me Joy (she was called the UK's Kelly Clarkson, she said Kelly was her hero and sung SUBG). ~~even though she got dropped from her label, I guess the curse is real~~

Which is a damn shame because he's got such a great voice and his album was fantastic, I can't believe he blew it by being a jerk
