Not surprised. It's a religious belief of scientology to treat your children like adults capable of making their own decisions fully. You can see how even Tom Cruise's son flies around the world as DJ in his teen years when most people his age would be in school.
I honestly don't understand why everyone thinks they're such bad parents. I mean, I know kids that act just like them and it's no big deal. The only difference is that the Smith kids are famous.
