The film is set to be released in April of 2015. However, Saban and Lionsgate have made no official statement concerning the release date, currently, the cast and crew are busy preparing the script and filming schedules.
News from MTV suggests that the Power Rangers reboot movie will star Liam Hemsworth as the Red Ranger, Jack Gleeson as the Blue Ranger, Chloe Grace Moretz as the Pink Ranger, Jamie Chung as the Yellow Ranger and Michael B. Jordan will be the Black Ranger.
Jason David Frank, an original Power Ranger cast member, has confirmed that he is in the movie as the trainer and mentor of the Rangers. Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, the MAD TV comedians, will play the roles of Skull and Bulk in the film. Zack Braff has been said to play the Alpha 5, Zordon's Robot Assistant.
Meryl Streep, the Academy Award winner, is supposed to have been signed up for the role of Rita Repulsa, the Evil Alien Witch. Tom Hardy, the Dark Knight Rises star, will be seen as Goldar (the Ferocious Alien General), and Michael Fassbender, the X-Men: Days of Future Past star, will play Lord Zedd, the Evil Galactic Conqueror.
The Dragonzord of the Green Ranger has its official concept art released too and it looks inspired from Gypsy Danger, the Jaeger robot from the movie, the Pacific Rim.
