He asked about gay life. Gay life does depend on sexuality. This, I assume, refers to the lifestyle of a gay person and the freedom they have to express their sexuality. And I believe the quality of gay life is dependent on gay rights.
There are countless countries where homosexuality isn't accepted and the LGBT community suffers because of this. India, for example, where gay sex is illegal. Here, gay men get duped into supposed sexual encounters. They are then robbed and are unable to go to the police because sex is illegal. This also limits availability of treatment of diseases like AIDS as the method of contraction is illegal.
You can easily contrast the life of a gay man in Sweden (where straight people accept being gay) to Uganda (where being gay almost resulted in a death sentence). How is quality of life not dependent on rights?
