If it was at 8 million at the end of 2011, then imagine its numbers now, after a massive worldwide tour.
OT: Adele might, with '25'.

BTW, BTW has sold 7.3 million copies worldwide and shipped 10 MILLION copies WW.
When will TD?
And to answer the question, UNORTHODOX JUKEBOX will sell 8 MILLION WW when all is said and done. Bookmark me...
but with less impact than BTW. (with BTW, You and I, and TEOG still being played on AC radio)

That site NOT official site. It's run by some chart freak who collects sales from official site + adds his own estimates for some countries and also doesn't track sales in those countries who don't release any sales info.
Most of ATRL uses it as source but there is no way in hell that can be considered official.
And if you are going by it, at least say it sold 6+ million copies, cause 5.4M is only from 2011, it charted for additional 15+ weeks in 2012.

Um Mediatraffic is a lot more reliable than record labels who claim their ww shipments as sales, it actually goes into detail about all the official global charts they use to compile their chart/sales numbers. Sorry youre mad it exposes your fave's inflated sales!

Born This Way had a negative impact on every aspect of Lady GaGa's career except for adding album sales.
I pray the good sis Bruno doesn't get impacted by such a.....is plane crash a good enough analogy?

So you are using Gaga's label numbers, everybody knows that by the end of 2011 BTW ended with sales close to 5,8 according to Musicharts and it dropped out of the charts almost everywhere around the world during 2012. BTW didn't sell more than 6,3m WW. And UJ is already at 6,3m.
Quote:
Ifpi 2011:
1, Adele "21" - 18.1 million
2, Michael Buble "Christmas" - 6.5 million
3, Lady Gaga "Born This Way"
4, Coldplay "Mylo Xyloto"
5, Bruno Mars "Doo-Wops & Hooligans"
|
So it probably shipped 6m at best during 2011. And the album was no where to be found during 2012 or 2013.

BTW sold 6,8M in 2011. In 2012 it sold around 1M thanks to the tour, momentum and Marry the Night

And if we're going by Mediatraffic,
Coldplay - Mylo Xyloto = 5.5 Million Copies
Lady Gaga - Born This Way = 5.4 Million Copies
Please. How in hell did Gaga surpass Coldplay's sales when she's not even in the Top 50 Albums of 2012?
Coldplay charted in 2011 with 3.3 Million Copies sold
Gaga charted in 2011 with 5.4 Million Copies sold
Coldplay charted in 2011 with 2.2 Million Copies sold
Gaga was nowhere to be found.
BYE!

No matter what, Born This Way was and is a phenomenal album that further cemented Gaga's artistry and stood for everything she believed in. She behaved exactly as she wanted, and is continuing to do so with ARTPOP knowing full-well the backlash and the public's reception. It's a shame she can't even be respected for that, but then again ATRL users aren't able to look past a personality or an appearance, let alone album sales and chart positions.
