I can't tell if you think the AMAs was a good performance, but I'll assume you do.
In this scenario we have a middle of the road Beyonce performance vs. a good Miley one.
Beyonce many other fantastic performances of just her, a mic and a light. For example pretty much the entire first half of her Vegas DVD, Single Ladies at the AMAs (if you don't count the dancers as being something extra as they basically just were bookends), most of her Dangerously in Love performances, etc.
