I agree with you here. I think it's pretty obvious that RCA & her management pushed "Adore You" as the single just because of it's success on iTunes. (Unfortunately, in most cases, when songs do really well on album release week & are made singles later on, they underperform or don't live up to expectations.)
She wasn't into from the beginning & I kinda think she was upset about the video leaking and messing with the views.
