I actually really liked the old logo. It worked with their purpose well.
By that I meant it felt old-time cinematic, if that makes sense.
Edit: I guess vintage was the word I was looking for

boo. it just lost its character and vintage feel to it. but if that's the direction netflix wants or is changing towards then ..

It looks terrible!
I will actually drop Netflix just for changing their logo to this bland crapola
the old one really pops out and reminds me of old-timey vintage ads. The new one is like just some flat generic font, gross.

I agree. The deep drop shadows gave it that. Now that they have taken it away, no more old hollywood feel.
