I have been passionate about, and enthralled by, this project from the moment Hank, Rodney and Bob brought it to me over a year ago. The story is not only compelling and intelligent but a look behind the curtain at the CIA we haven't seen before in film or television.

UPDATE 2 - May 6
Katherine Heigl @KatieHeigl
Our show is a go! Big thank you to an amazing cast and crew #StateOfAffairs @nbc #NewSeries
NBC has picked up spy drama Allegiance and Katherine Heigl drama State of Affairs.
For its part, State of Affairs marks Grey's Anatomy alum Heigl's return to series television. Described as Scandal meets The West Wing, the drama revolves around a maverick CIA officer (Heigl) who was plucked from the field to become the president's (Alfre Woodard) daily briefer, assuming responsibility for targeting America's most critical threats while navigating the unique lifestyle that comes with such a high-powered job.
Each day the President is faced with dozens of life and death decisions, and to prioritize the biggest international crises facing the country, one top CIA analyst — Charleston Tucker (Katherine Heigl, “Grey’s Anatomy”) — assembles the President’s Daily Briefing (PDB). This list of the most vital security issues facing the nation brings with it moral and political judgment calls for Charleston and her trusted group of brilliant analysts at the agency. Aside from the political minefields she has to walk, Charlie has a close personal relationship with the President (Alfre Woodard, “Desperate Housewives”) because she was once engaged to her son before a tragic terrorist attack took his life. Charlie survived that attack and is now determined to bring the perpetrators to justice. Navigating a complex personal life and a pressure-cooker profession is, of course, a challenge, and Charlie sometimes engages in boundary-pushing behavior to avoid facing her grief. But when the clock strikes 2 a.m., she is all about her job — protecting her nation, serving her President and still trying to get to the bottom of her fiancé’s murder that will reveal itself as a shocking mystery. The cast also includes Adam Kaufman, Sheila Vand, Cliff Chamberlain, Tommy Savas and Leslie Odom, Jr. Writer-director Joe Carnahan (“The Blacklist”) serves as executive producer with Katherine Heigl, Nancy Heigl, Robert Simonds, Sophie Watts, Henry Crumpton, Rodney Faraon and Julia Franz. “State of Affairs” is a production of Universal Television, Bob Simonds Company and Abishag Productions.
nnnn Grey's Anatomy star. LMAO when she was the upcoming America's Sweetheart. It was only five years ago!
Well, now she's doing NyQuil commercials and starring in "Scandal"/"West Wing" rip-offs.
That's what happens when you're a TYRANT on set and have a stage mom as a manager.
America has only two sweethearts, right now: Sandra Bullock and Kristen Bell.
Really? former movie star? You do know she still movies right? She did 3 movies before doing the pilot of State of Affairs and they might come out either this year or next year so she she's not only a tv star she's also a movie star.
Good for her! Also, I absolutely LOVE Alfre Woodard. She is someone who I greatly admire. I consider her to be a trailblazer for Black/African-Americans in film/stage/television.

That's the most important word in your whole post.
If Katherine Heigl were a movie 'star' (as opposed to actor), she wouldn't be doing network television. Network TV is where you go when the roles have dried up (hello Halle!) or you've burned too many bridges, as our dear Kate has done. The title is VERY accurate.
nnn at her not even being able to land an AMC gig.
This is what happens when you get 2 big paycheck and think you're above everybody and decide to become a bitch.
They should teach lessons on the downfall of her career in college courses. It's easy to see what happened with Kate Hudson, as nepotism can only carry one so far - talent has to be shown eventually. But Katie's case is so fascinating!

You're just upset cause she left Grey's Anatomy and you wanted her to back so Dr Izzy would light up your week every Thursday and can't handdle the news that she has a new show and she will never again be Dr. Izy
Plus she can still do movies like when she did while being on Grey's Anatomy
