Venues make more money from sporting events than concerts, so of course they're going to choose the former. Luckily the reschedule isn't anything too drastic, other people would be saying she's rescheduling because of poor ticket sales.

They could not see this coming because the Wizards haven't been to the playoffs in 7 years and around the time Gaga booked the venue the Wizards had a losing record and simply didn't think they would be in this situation.

NBA games cannot be rescheduled unless their is some sort of emergency like the venue being on fire or something. Concerts always get rescheduled. You really think basketball fans in a whole city and around the country care about some music artist?
Plus, these venues are always built around a sports team. Voters choose to pay taxes for these venues to get a sports team in the city. It's just the way it is.
And a lot of these venues are partially owned by the team's owner.
