I get where you're coming from, but people also have the instinct to run from anything that threatens them. And as far as they were concerned, it was a threat. It's hard to pick between two completely different instincts in a snap decision like that.

That's true, I've been in nearly similar situations and it's an ordeal. But maybe it's just me, after experiencing people get stabbed and shot, you kind of know what your going to do and what your not.

1. Stand by and let someone die.

or

2. Stay where you are where you might save the person or you might die yourself.

I'll take option 1. Some of us are not cut out to be heroes.

Yeah, I'd be willing to bet that most of those people hadn't been in similar situations. So it was probably really confusing and shocking.

Yeah, but I've never seen somebody get stabbed with a hunting knife as well as the head coming off, so I'd be shocked and confused too even though I experienced stabbings and stuff.

I know probably i wouldnt be any much help anyway but i mean even if i was able to do something i probably wouldnt. i would never put someone else's life over mine ... and i know its sad because thats really selfish but i can just imagine being completely in panic mode if something like that happened and i would probably only try and do something for family / SOME friends.

thats terrible. it makes me sick to my stomach thinking somebody would consciously do that.
