At my school i've realized that a lot of people call other people gay to insult them. Why is this? What is it about making fun of someone's sexuality that makes people feel better about themselves?
It's very annoying to hear someone say:
"OMG that's so gay."
"That dude is so gay."
"Your face is so gay."
Why does it matter if they're gay?
If they aren't gay, how does it make you justified to say that?
Any kind of minority faces this. Sad but true. Look at all the children with mental disabilities surrounded by the society that made fun of them by calling other people the R word.
There is a similar disrespect from men about women (e.g. "you play ball like a girl,") and it definitely goes on racially too. Sad.
Because gay people allow it, in general you guys(gay people) allow it, is very difficult to change that because you're minority, but you have the same physical force of a straight guy to make him shut up. So in general this slangs come because of the low self esteem gay people in general project insecurity. But good news is that thing is slowly dying so...
I mean it means nothing to them than just a word it's not like their intentions are to offend you ...(unless you have something to hide) but it's just like saying "You're so stupid" not literally meaning it...w/e don't let it bother you too much
