Anyway it's difficult to get studies like this right and I bet this is only for one country or even just one area of one country and even then it won't be accurate because you can't very well ask everyone.
Wtf??? Who the **** did they survey. I don't drink or smoke at all.
The existence of a gay man who doesn't smoke or drink doesn't make these results inaccurate.

Define "anywhere else". This is my problem with the original blog post--I bet I can name several communities in which drug abuse is more pervasive than the lofty "gay society".

And how many % of heterosexual people abuse substances? Also what sample did they use, just North American gays? Often these studies will generalize to all gay people despite their sample not being representative of different nationalities, ethnicities, age groups, etc. Because "gayguys.com" citing a statistic with no references whatsoever does not seem very trustworthy.
