Plus why do people even download stuff like that and keep it on their computer? I don't get it, it will always be online and it's less of a chance you'll be caught if you don't actually have it on your computer

No, I'll just put the "inappropriate" stuff in a folder nobody would check and name it something else.
Like put certain kinds of movies in iTunes > Music > Justin Timberlake and title it 'video'.
