She is assured 800K. She'll most likely break Britney's record, especially with a hit lead single. She would have to really TRY to screw up this time--like, intentionally throw a curveball album with a completely different and unapproachable style of music. Knowing Adele and how she shies away from fame, you can't exactly rule that out.  But she's vocally and compositionally gifted, and I'm confident she will keep making popular music. |
I thought this at one point too. That she could end up releasing an "anti-mainstream" album because she didn't like the attention she got with 21, but she's also very aware of how people view her and her music so I doubt she'll purposely sabotage herself.
I think part of the reason why she's lasted, despite the fact she takes a lot of time off and is lazy (compared to others), is because she always ends up delivering where it matters the most and that's with her music.
