BEIRUT: MBC paid Ricky Martin a whopping $1 million for his four-minute performance on the season finale of The Voice Ahla Sawt local Lebanese media reported.
According to El-Nashra Fan, the Latin singer reportedly arrived in Beirut just to take part in the pan-Arab version of the talent show, and left minutes after he was done.
Martin also declined a request to hold a news conference following his performance, arguing that speaking to reporters was not part of his contract with the Dubai-based Middle Broadcasting Center (MBC), El-Nashra said. He briefly chatted with the host of the show during the broadcast.
The singer, who performed in 2006 in a Beirut concert, also had his own convoy of local policemen who accompanied him from the airport to the studio for the live show.
They treated him like he was holier than thou and the world's biggest popstar, when he's struggling to chart.
I mean, I watched the press conference where they revealed he was coming and the guy talking (I guess he's the president of the channel) had my gaydar go AWF.
So I guess that's why they got him.....
Anyways, he's coming to Morocco next month and I'm sure he won't be getting quarter that so idgi.
