They probably meant grab/hug her etc, not keep your distance for the pic.
I blame Avril and the people taking the pic, she should make it less awkward for fans and the person taking the pic should tell the fan to move closer for the pic. Also they should take a few pics and send the best one. Some M&G are so badly done.
