I've found the opposite tbh though. I've received more hate and backlash from gays about being bi than I ever have from a straight. Straight guys are usually the ones who are kind and accepting.
But in regards to the op, I think it's mainly just because straights are the vast majority of the gp, so receiving their acceptance (in the case of a pop star like gaga) is important because it means that they are more universally acclaimed, rather than a niche act for the gay crowd.
I'd also agree with the self hating and social conditioning idea as well for some gays. Gays have been told their whole lives that gay is bad and gross and straight is the correct way to live so what do you expect?

of course people are going to treat straight like they're superior. It's not just gays that act like this, mind you (and definitely not atrl exclusive).
