Well, it really depends. There's been so many studies conducted that suggests personal relationships and morality are intrinsically linked. I don't think human beings are inherently evil, morality is something that needs to be developed through empathy, and forming bonds with your parents and peers. An awful upbringing could have disastrous effects on your morality and your ability to socialise, you don't need to be a psychoanalyst to know that. Just look at cases like Jeffrey Dahmer and Jon Veneables and Robert Thompson.
It feels good to me when I do something good, and when I do something bad I feel guilty. I think most people can relate, and therefore we're naturally good.
If humans were inherently evil than why do soldiers get so dramatically effected from shooting another human in times of war. Even against sworn enemies soldiers still develop PTSD, depression, alcoholism, etc. Dont you think they would be perfectly able to do those actions without psychological repercussions if humans were evil.
Personality traits like selfishness are largely dependent on early childhood socialization (so the environment, culture, upbringing, etc.) If you have focus on peace education, social justice, community involvement, gender equality, etc. in your early childhood than these negative personality traits that so many people think are inherent would not be there.
Theres just so much more out there that supports humans are more inherently good rather than evil.
