Recently my iPod decided to crash and everything was depleted. Yes. Gone. Poof, be gone.
So I do have another iPod back up. It is a 30GB (compared to the 80GB ) and it has pretty much all my music on it, pretty updated, like some of the 2008 stuff that came our recently isn't on there.
This iPod is my backup I guess you can say. And right now I need an iPod ripper so I can put all that music BACK on my 80GB. I used to use iPod Agent, but my three trial period is over with and the only way I can use that program is by "buying" it.
I could keep downloading more and more programs, but I don't want to keep doing that because sometimes there is a catch. I just downloaded one and in the free version I just downloaded, you can only download "100" songs at a time. Who the f**k came up with that idea??? If it was 1,000 it would take only 5 times I should say to rip the whole thing, but no.
Does anybody know a good iPod ripper? I don't want to re-download all my music. iPod are becoming a big pain in the butt, especially if they crash and your music isn't on the computer.
Oh I also want to mention that the reason I got two iPod's is because my 30GB is too small. It was like over 90% filled up and then suddenly my screen started filling up with black lines. I think I made a note of this earlier this year when I made a thread like this...
But I guess, hey, I can use this iPod in the meantime and just figure out my other iPod later. I just can't watch anything on this iPod or look at the screen really...
You can go to control panel>folder options>view> and then turn off hiding. then plug in your ipod, go through thr itunes music and find you files. theyll be tagged funnily (ex. WA64HZ.mp3,...) but they'll be perfectly tagged once added to iTunes.

YAYYYYY! It let me copy a song to my computer. Now I don't need any iPod ripper programs that have a potential virus. I didn't know you could do this. How long did you know this? They created iPods like this so you CAN'T rip music off your iPod, but if it's this easy, how come no one mentioned it til now?

No they created iPods like that to make it look like you couldn't rip music off your iPod. They are trying to hide secrets from you.
came late but yep as someone mentioned already there is that way and also with IpodRip which I use when I like a song that a friend have...he put in my ipod and with ipod rip i can pass it to my comp.
more easy than guessing which FDGHGFSD.mp3 song it is.

I tried dragging all 49 folders with my 5,000 songs in them, but it wouldn't work, so I had to go into each folder and drag 100+ songs onto my new iPod (onto iTunes).

IDK. Apple just felt like encrypted your own data against illegal sharing or copying/theft maybe? I have no clue.
