I started singing first, but I started rapping when I was 11. I look at old performance videos now and it's really funny—I thought I was such a gangster! It came about when I was singing with little girl groups, and they would give the lead parts to the older girls in the group, the ones with more developed voices. I was always stuck with ad-libs and background vocals, but I wanted my own part! So I writing raps so I could have my little time to shine.

In the future, I would really love to work with Bruno Mars. I love his songwriting, and there's something so charming about him.
