Standing on the Sun praise rolls in
Quote:
Bow down to Queen Beyoncé.
Have you heard Beyoncé’s summer anthem, “Standing on the Sun?” If the answer is no, then you’re missing out. Although the track hasn’t been officially released by Queen B, herself, doesn’t mean people won’t be singing it all summer. In fact, this past week, the internet has been buzzing crazily over this hot track.

It’s a sweeping, satisfying pop song with a slight dancehall undercurrent

The turn-up function has officially arrived ... And, with it comes summer, because a star who quite literally makes her own wind (what's up, wind machines?) has the power to change the seasons, too. (That's normal, right?) There's even a "Yoncé" reference.

Co-written by the behind the scenes king and queen of pop, Sia and Greg Kurstin who have their fingers in so many pies the pie maker must be going barmy, it's a slinky piece of tropical pop that has a little hint of that left-field style that permeated Beyonce that we weren't quite used to. Of course, Beyonce's belting pipes are in fine form and the little reggae break changes things up nicely. You can see why it didn't make it on to the album, as it's more likely something you'd find on 4, but it is a cracking piece of smouldering pop.

The song presents Bey in all of her goddess-y glory and is possessed of a sun-splashed melody.

Queen Bey sings fun-loving, and often sexually charged, lyrics over a Reggae-inspired instrumental that’ll inspire listeners to bust a move or two.
