Discussion: Has any album hit you HARD this year?

I'm still getting over the double whammy that Rhye and Quadron provided me last year. They still knock me OUT. I've not heard anything this year that is giving me the fever.

I'd say Lorde's album really opened my eyes this year.. but it was released last year

Last year? "BEYONCÉ", the Frozen soundtrack & "Pure Heroine".

Jhené Aiko's Sail Out hit home for me. It's one of those emotional albums.

Oh, if this year, I'd have to say SZA's Z. The lore and story from behind the lyrics of the songs, and it's undertone is twisted but also relates to me.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor's 'Wanderlust' left a big impression on me.

Paloma Faith's 'A Perfect Contraction' also left me speechless because of how good it was !

Lykke Li's 'I Never Learn' is shaping up to be another one of those kind tbh.

I was REALLY into Shakira for like a month. Now I only really listen to a few standouts.

I have a list several albums long that I plan to listen to, but haven't gotten to yet.

"Opulence EP" by Brooke Candy is coming to slay me even though it only has 5 songs.

The New Classic is great too. Other albums are growing onto me the more I listen. It usually takes me a month to fully get into an album.

After Matangi and Pure Heroine everything has kind of felt lackluster... But I really enjoyed St. Vincent's new album and even Nicki's stuff has been kind of serving.

Tegan, Sara & Greg Kurstin did such a great job.
They actually made synth pop interesting enough for me to listen.

All of the albums I've heard this year: Sophie E-B, St. Vincent, some others I've forgotten - those have been ONE AND DONE bros.

Couldn't even make it through that insufferable MO album.
